possess a valid NC Drivers License;

possess a valid NC General Law Enforcement Certification, or be eligible for a NC Probationary Law Enforcement Certification;

submit to and receive a negative drug screen;

complete a physical examination by a licensed physician, nurse practitioner, or physicians assistant (if applicable);

complete a mental evaluation (if applicable);

qualify with a duty weapon, within department proficiency limits;

receive a satisfactory oral board evaluation;

submit to a complete security background investigation, including criminal convictions and credit report.
